Are you a skilled Science Technician with laboratory experience, looking for a rewarding new role? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in North Derbyshire, seeking to appoint a dedicated Science Technician from September.

This is a full-time, term-time only position, offering a competitive daily rate of £100, ideal for someone with a strong laboratory background who is passionate about supporting science education.

About the Role:

You'll be joining a supportive Science Department where you'll play a key role in the smooth running of practical lessons across KS3 and KS4. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and setting up scientific equipment and materials for practical experiments.

  • Assisting teaching staff with technical support during science lessons.

  • Maintaining clean, organised and safe laboratories at all times.

  • Managing the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous substances.

  • Monitoring stock levels and ordering science supplies as needed.

The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have previous laboratory experience - this is essential (school-based or industrial lab work considered).

  • Be confident working with lab equipment, chemicals and following safety protocols.

  • Demonstrate strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Be proactive, reliable and work well as part of a team.

Please note: Only applicants with proven laboratory experience will be considered for this role.
