This position offers a chance to work directly within the client's office, supporting the client's officers and collaborating on shared delivery objectives.
You will be joining a dedicated team of professionals with comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the diverse structures within the county. Supported by additional structures colleagues, you will help deliver high-quality services. With an exciting increase in funding for the 2025/26 financial year, the structures programme aims to protect and enhance the county's varied bridge stock, which includes everything from viaducts to small masonry arches.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing the condition of the client's structural assets
- Identifying and prioritising maintenance and repair works
- Delivering over 500 General and around 100 Principal Inspections annually
- Undertaking Special Inspections and surveying accident damages as required
- Working within a professional team to deliver quality services and meet set objectives
Job Requirements:
- A mature and self-aware approach to achieving high standards and safe working practices
- A passion and aptitude for bridge inspection, with a sound understanding of bridge design principles
- Familiarity with bridge inspection processes and Bridge Condition Indicators
- A HNC, HND in civil/structural engineering, or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Confident communication skills, able to convey your viewpoints clearly and keep stakeholders and colleagues well-informed
