Marks Consulting Partners are currently looking for a Maintenance Surveyor to work with one of our Housing Association clients in Gloucestershire.
What the job will be doing
- To achieve compliance with Health and Safety and Wellbeing Regulations and Legislation.
- To manage the housing portfolio in accordance with the 'Repair of Benefice Buildings Measure 1972’.
- To deliver a comprehensive, good quality planned and responsive maintenance service.
- To provide a full range of technical surveying duties including Project Management, defect diagnosis, specifying and managing repair and improvement works and annual servicing programmes.
- Retain and where possible enhance the value of investments.
- Maintain and update the property portfolio in a condition so they continue to fulfil their function.
- Present a good appearance / image of the organisation.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with occupants.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting the Head of Property in the delivery of the day-to-day repair service, planned improvements, adaptations and servicing of the property portfolio.
- Providing quality control and customer service.
- assisting in the implementation of the principles of Best Value and seek continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Ensuring work is carried out safely and to the required specification, service standards and legislation or Codes of Practice including 'best practice’.
- Undertaking wider tasks that support the organisation and the job holder’s professional development e.g., training and CPD.
What you will need
- Experience as a Reactive Maintenance Surveyor or similar in the residential sector instructing and managing contractors to ensure works are administered safely, on budget and to high standard.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety and in particular the Construction Design Management 2015 Regulations.
- Experience in defect and diagnosis - Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
- Good technical / construction knowledge of residential properties from historic listed buildings to modern houses.
Qualifications
- Suitability qualified to HNC OR degree level or equivalent professional qualification or experience within the construction or building management environment.
- IOSHH Manging Safely qualified. Training and support to be provided if candidate requires qualification.
