Job Title: Principal Road Safety Engineer

Salary: £50,788 - £52,805 per annum
About the Role: Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact on road safety? We are seeking a dedicated Principal Road Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead critical road safety initiatives, reducing road traffic casualties and promoting safe travel across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team focused on reducing road traffic casualties.
- Design, implement, and oversee road safety schemes and policies.
- Conduct data analysis, including collision data and speed management.
- Provide safety reviews for highway design proposals.
- Conduct Road Safety Audits in compliance with industry standards.
- Manage project budgets, providing regular updates and reports.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to develop road safety solutions.
- Support and mentor team members, fostering a positive team environment.
About You:
- Strong understanding of the Safe System approach to road safety.
- Proven experience in managing teams and leading road safety projects.
- Expertise in collision data analysis and problem-solving for road safety.
- Qualified to undertake Road Safety Audits.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders.
- Customer-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
