About the Company

Our client is a well-established precision engineering company based in Gloucester, specialising in high-quality machined components for a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, and defence. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to their dedicated team.


The Role

As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. You'll work from technical drawings, ensure quality standards are met, and contribute to continuous improvement within the machining department.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC milling machines
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
  • Inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
  • Perform basic machine maintenance and tool changes
  • Work to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
  • Support team leaders and colleagues to improve machining processes


Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) in a precision engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
  • Ability to use manual measuring equipment confidently
  • Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Mazak controls (advantageous)
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
