About the Company
Our client is a well-established precision engineering company based in Gloucester, specialising in high-quality machined components for a range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, and defence. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to add an experienced CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) to their dedicated team.
The Role
As a CNC Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision-engineered components to tight tolerances. You'll work from technical drawings, ensure quality standards are met, and contribute to continuous improvement within the machining department.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications
- Inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy using measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges)
- Perform basic machine maintenance and tool changes
- Work to tight deadlines while maintaining high quality standards
- Support team leaders and colleagues to improve machining processes
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a CNC Setter/Operator (Milling) in a precision engineering environment
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances
- Ability to use manual measuring equipment confidently
- Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhain, or Mazak controls (advantageous)
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
