Project Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced Section Engineer for an immediate start on a major highways infrastructure project based in Gloucester. This is a critical role with a Tier 1 Contractor, focusing on delivering high-quality civil engineering works including highways, drainage, and earthworks.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage sections of work related to highways construction, ensuring compliance with specifications and programme timelines.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site operatives.
Ensure that all work is carried out safely and to the required quality standards.
Support the Site Agent and Project Manager with reporting, progress tracking, and issue resolution.
Implement quality assurance procedures and carry out inspections as required.
Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments.
Liaise with the design team, clients, and stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery.
Essential Requirements:
Proven experience on major highways projects, particularly in earthworks, drainage, and carriageway construction.
Relevant qualifications in Civil Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
CSCS card (Gold or higher preferred).
SMSTS or SSSTS and other relevant safety certifications.
Experience working with a Tier 1 Contractor on infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of NEC contracts and quality assurance processes.
