Responsibilities and duties of the CHP Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Service Coordinator you will:

  • Perform field-based maintenance including reactive and scheduled service maintenance on Combined Heat and Power assets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service through clear communication, timely issue resolution, and a customer-focused approach.
  • Identify, repair, and replace defective components as necessary to ensure continued system operation.
  • Respond to call outs on a 1 in 4 weekend basis.
  • Other duties as required


Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Previous experience performing electrical or mechanical maintenance on combustion engines ideally in power generation, or industrial processing environment.
  • A Gas safe qualification is desirable.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications, such as an NVQ, HNC, HND, or degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
