Reed is seeking a Demand Planner to join a highly successful commercial operations team. This role is crucial for managing the demand side of the business planning process, ensuring accurate future demand forecasts and mitigating supply constraints. The Demand Planner will be a central figure between sales, marketing, commercial, finance, and supply/operations teams, making this a dynamic and impactful position.
Day-to-day of the role:- Own and manage the Demand Planning process as part of the overall planning process.
- Create a forecast updated monthly for all products/customers, ensuring accuracy and incorporating inputs from marketing, sales, and finance.
- Act as a support, challenge, and approver of forecast promotional/uplift volumes from the sales team.
- Monitor and manage KPIs, identifying actions for performance improvement, with a focus on forecast accuracy and customer service levels.
- Act as the point person to the supply/operations team to ensure a consensus plan is achieved.
- Update, create, and maintain master data in SAP to ensure forecasting accuracy.
- Engage actively with various stakeholders to ensure an accurate future plan and strong inter-departmental relationships.
- Experience in a similar role within an FMCG organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to work within a business planning cycle.
- Working knowledge of demand planning software tools, ideally SAP/Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interrogate and interpret data across multiple sales channels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with individuals at all levels.
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
- Proactive in seeking improved ways of working and adopting best practice principles.
