A leading manufacturer at the forefront of high-precision engineering and advanced technology solutions is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer – Production to join their growing team in Gloucester. This is an excellent opportunity to play a central role in driving quality performance across all production operations within a highly regulated, world-class environment.
The Role:
As Senior Quality Engineer – Production, you’ll take ownership of quality across production value streams, managing quality performance, leading continuous improvement activities, and ensuring full compliance with customer, regulatory, and industry standards. You will lead and mentor a small team of Quality Engineers, support the Business Management System, and work closely with cross-functional teams to implement robust quality tools and process controls.
Responsibilities:
·        Lead daily quality activities across production value streams.
·        Develop and mentor the Production Quality team to enhance capability and performance.
·        Implement and standardize core quality tools and processes including APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
·        Monitor process performance data, driving improvements through SPC, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, DMAIC, and PPS.
·        Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve product quality and production scrap performance.
·        Oversee responses to customer concerns and internal scrap via MRB processes.
·        Support supplier quality issue resolution and manage internal and external audits.
·        Lead the Quality function’s input on new product and process introductions.
·        Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and quality improvement planning.
·        Maintain compliance with AS9100 Rev D and other applicable standards.
Person:
·        Proven experience in a Quality Engineering role within a complex, highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace or automotive), working to AS9100 Rev D standards.
·        Deep understanding of quality tools and methodologies: APQP, PPAP, PSW, FAIR, ISIR, SPC, and Control Plans.
·        Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings including GD&T.
·        Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills.
·        Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
·        Leadership experience with a focus on coaching and developing others.
·        Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
Desirable:
·        AS9100-trained or Lead Auditor certification.
·        Experience with Lean tools (e.g., 5S, SMED, Single Piece Flow, Jidoka).
·        Familiarity with CMM technology and project management software.
