Operations SupervisorHempsted based – Covering all 5 HRC’s within GloucestershireSalary per annum, £34,434 – 35,412 Per Annum + 5% Shift allowanceFull time, permanent, 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 10 hours per day, annualised hoursUbico is looking a motivated Operations Supervisor to join our team and oversee the day-to-day running of our operational workforce. This role covers a wide range of frontline services including waste management, household recycling centres, health & safety, and compliance.As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in supporting staff, ensuring services are delivered efficiently and safely, and stepping in with a hands-on approach when needed.About the RoleAs an Operations Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for:
  • Oversee and resource daily operational services to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Manage and support teams, including authorising timesheets and monitoring absence.
  • Lead on health & safety, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  • Provide training for staff on equipment and operational procedures.
  • Investigate incidents, complaints, and service breakdowns, taking corrective action quickly.
  • Ensure effective communication across teams and with the Operations Manager.
  • Support with stock control, admin, and compliance duties.
  • Work flexibly across sites, including weekends/Bank holidays and out-of-hours standby (with additional pay).
We’re seeking someone with:
  • Full UK driving licence (up to 3.5 tonnes).
  • GCSEs (Maths & English or equivalent).
  • Experience of managing a team and working in an operational or office environment.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Confident with IT systems, including MS Office.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather, take initiative, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Flexible to work shifts (including weekends and standby rota).
Desirable (but not essential):
  • Driver CPC / CPC management qualification.
  • COTC holder.
  • Degree in waste management or environmental studies.
  • LGV Class 2 licence.
  • IOSH Health & Safety certification.
