Job Title: Project Engineer - Water Sector
Location: Gloucester
Salary: Up to 拢50,000 p/a

The Opportunity

We're working with a well-established and highly respected contractor delivering projects across the Wessex Water framework. We're seeking a Project Engineer with a background in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering to take ownership of minor works schemes across both clean and wastewater treatment projects throughout the South West.

This role offers the chance to work on technically varied projects while developing your expertise within the water sector. You'll receive ongoing training, professional development, and industry-specific certifications to support your long-term career progression.

Key Responsibilities

路Manage and deliver projects from planning through to handover.
路Prepare, review, and maintain project and construction documentation.
路Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams during investigation, design, and build phases.
路Liaise directly with clients, stakeholders, and project partners to ensure successful delivery.
路Attend and contribute to design, progress, and site meetings.
路Monitor progress, manage risk, and support programme reviews.
路Ensure accurate project reporting, financial tracking, and compliance with standards.

About You

路Relevant qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
路Previous experience in a project engineering role (ideally in water, utilities, or process industries).
路Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
路Proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
路Commitment to learning and continuing professional development.
Skills & Qualifications

Essential:


路ONC / HNC / B.Eng or NVQ equivalent in engineering.
路CSCS card and EUSR (Clean Water Hygiene) (training can be provided).
路Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
路IOSH or CITB SMSTS (training available through the framework).
路Experience in the water or sewage industry.
路Familiarity with Water Industry Standards.
Technical Skills:
路Knowledge of pumps, control systems, and process plant.
路Understanding of clean and wastewater processes.
路Ability to review RAMS, lift plans, and technical documentation.
