About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Clinical Practice Manager to lead a nursing team delivering supervised detoxification and structured therapeutic rehabilitation. This is a hands-on role that combines clinical leadership with operational oversight, ensuring safe, high-quality care and compliance with all regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will be a qualified Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) and will have experience in substance misuse treatment, detoxification, and rehabilitation settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and support the nursing team, providing supervision, performance management, and professional development.
- Prescribe medications within professional scope for detoxification and ongoing clinical care.
- Ensure safe, evidence-based clinical practice and adherence to Controlled Drugs legislation.
- Develop, implement, and maintain clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Oversee clinical governance activities including audits, incident investigations, and quality improvement.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including GPs, consultants, pharmacies, safeguarding teams, and commissioners.
- Provide clinical leadership in emergencies and complex cases.
- Ensure staff compliance with mandatory training, appraisals, revalidation, and professional registration.
- Support workforce planning, rostering, and service continuity.
- Registered Non-Medical Prescriber (NMC, GPhC, or equivalent) with current professional registration.
- Significant clinical experience in substance misuse treatment, detox, or rehabilitation.
- Proven experience leading and managing clinical teams.
- Strong knowledge of medicines management, safe prescribing, and regulatory compliance (CQC).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Postgraduate qualification in addictions, healthcare management, or leadership.
- Experience with dual diagnosis and complex psychosocial needs.
- Familiarity with commissioning frameworks for substance misuse services.
