My client is one of the World Leaders in the design, manufacture and production of skid mounted rotary compressors for the oil and gas industry.
The role:
- The QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all materials, components and assemblies utilised within the Company comply with relevant specifications, drawings and documentation.
- Their ideal candidate will have experience of working in a Quality Inspection role, ideally in a manufacturing or engineering environment, including experience of Metrology/Calibration/FARO Arm CMM.
- A HNC/D or City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or similar experience along with a Quality related qualification, CSWIP 3.0, PCN would be an advantage
- Candidates will have a knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing processes and the ability to evaluate and problem solve. An understanding and experience in interpreting Engineering Drawings, Certification, Specifications & Standards requirements. API, ISO, PED, etc is also required.
Main duties of the role:
- Ensuring that all inspections, documentation and testing activities are completed in an accurate manner
- Be the point of contact for ensuring all material supplied to the company and despatched from the company to ensure that it meets the required standards established by drawings, specifications and similar documentation.
- Completing inspection and quality assurance activities in Goods Inwards, Despatch and Work in-process environments.
- Be responsible for the inspection of all components, assemblies and complete packages throughout the manufacturing works using contract specific Inspection and Test Plans (I&TP).
- Be responsible for the management of the instruments calibration system.
- Completing inspections, assessments and providing documented reports clearly identifying deficiencies and non-conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Completing technical machine shop inspections using Faro 3D CMM measuring equipment (in addition to basic mechanical measurement activities).
- Completing assessments of painted components including but not limited to paint adhesion, thickness and quality checks.
- Completing assessments of welded components to assess quality of weld using visual and basic measuring equipment.
