Senior Digital Communications Officer
Location: Westgate Street, GL1 2TG
Start Date: ASAP                                               
Contract Duration: 4+ Month
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Job Responsibilities

  • Create engaging digital content, including photos and videos.

  • Plan and execute digital campaigns and strategies.

  • Advise on communication plans and projects.

  • Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Mentor and supervise junior staff.

  • Engage with customers on social media.

  • Provide strategic communication advice to directors and councillors.

  • Use data to improve communication strategies.

  • Contribute to emergency communication efforts.

  • Participate in an on-call communication service.

Person Specifications
Must Have:

  • Experience in digital communications, media, and marketing.

  • Experience in campaign and project management.

  • Ability to create digital content like videos and photos.

  • Experience in a political environment.

  • Experience mentoring junior staff.

  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage projects.

  • Degree level education or equivalent.

Nice to Have:

  • Post-graduate qualification in communications.

  • Experience presenting controversial information creatively.

  • Ability to build strategic relationships.
