Academics Ltd is working closely with a supportive secondary school in the Gloucester area to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Support Assistant. You will work directly with individual pupils, helping them engage with learning and providing consistent, personalised support to help them succeed.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience in education or anyone considering a future career in teaching, SEN, or educational psychology.
1:1 SEN Support - Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to students with complex needs
- Be a positive, reliable presence in a student's daily school experience
- Show a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Build supportive, trusting relationships to ensure pupils feel safe and understood
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a school or educational setting (desirable)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, patient, and confident when managing challenging behaviour
- DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
