Streamline Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Transport Planner to join our client’s team in Gloucester. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing daily transport operations, making sure vehicles, drivers, and collections are scheduled efficiently, safely, and in line with compliance standards.

You’ll collaborate with drivers, site staff, and customers to maintain excellent service and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Schedule, plan, and coordinate daily transport operations to optimise fleet use.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers, customers, and internal teams for smooth operations.
  • Track vehicle movements and driver hours to ensure adherence to transport legislation.
  • Quickly address operational challenges such as delays or changes to schedules.
  • Keep accurate records of transport activity and documentation.
  • Support the Transport and Operations teams in process improvement initiatives.
  • Plan vehicle collections while factoring in maintenance and repairs.
  • Stay calm under pressure and manage challenging situations positively.
  • Liaise with management to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve targets.
  • Proactively inform customers of delays or schedule changes.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures in daily duties.
  • Engage in personal development and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in transport planning, fleet management, or logistics coordination.
  • Knowledge of UK transport regulations, driver working hours, and vehicle compliance.
  • Competent IT skills, including route planning software and Microsoft Office.
  • Good geographical knowledg

Additional Information:

  • Travel to multiple sites may be required

 £36,000 per year

Monday–Friday 08:30–17:00, with occasional weekends and bank holidays worked ( day back in lieu if worked )

Holidays: 20 days plus bank holidays
