Part Time Communications and Inclusion ManagerGodalming, Surrey

We are recruiting for a highly impactful and inclusive Charity who are recruiting for a Communications and Inclusion Manager who will lead the charities Inclusion team and act as Head of Communications. Working closely with the CEO, the Communications and Inclusion Manager is the main communications contact, ensuring the charity’s vision and ethos are consistently upheld across all channels and activities.

The Communications and Inclusion Manager will also collaborate closely with the Commercial Head and Finance Manager to align inclusion and communications strategies with the charity’s broader goals. Inclusion Officers are responsible for day-to-day safeguarding and direct artist support, and oversee safeguarding policies, provide training, and ensure best practice is maintained across the Inclusion team. This role is based in house working 4 days per week, 30 hours a week.

Key Responsibilities

Inclusion Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, manage, and line manage the Inclusion Officers, volunteers, including recruitment, training, support, and performance monitoring.
  • Provide training and oversight on safeguarding policies and emergency procedures, ensuring Inclusion Officers maintain high standards.
  • Support Inclusion Officers in their daily responsibilities relating to artist wellbeing, studio, and shop activities.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Inclusion team through one-to-one meetings and ongoing support.
  • Oversee inclusion projects and foster relationships with external partners.

Communications & Public Relations

  • Develop and implement strategic communications and PR plans aligned with the charity’s mission.
  • Act as the main contact for communications regarding inclusion and ethos, working closely with the CEO and commercial Head.
  • Manage media relations, external partnerships regarding inclusion and ethos, and donor relations to nurture support and grow the charity’s profile.
  • Encourage and grow funding, donation opportunities, income, and strategy.
  • Lead bid writing when required for one off projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven leadership in communications
  • Experience managing teams and delivering inclusion strategies.
  • Experience recruiting, training managing staff.
  • Strong skills in partnership development, donor engagement and media relations.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding people management and organisational abilities.
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive communication practices.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualifications desirable.
