Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant passionate about helping students achieve their full potential? A welcoming and well-regarded primary school in Godstone, Surrey, is seeking a dedicated Year 6 TA to provide crucial support to their pupils during their final year of primary education.

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact, working closely with the class teacher to prepare students for their SATS and their transition to secondary school. You will be joining a supportive Key Stage 2 team committed to fostering a positive and successful learning environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

As a Year 6 Teaching Assistant, you will be integral to the classroom, focusing on:

  • Targeted Academic Support: Deliver tailored interventions in Maths and English to individuals and small groups, with a key focus on boosting confidence and attainment for Year 6 SATS.

  • Resource Adaptation: Skillfully adapt learning materials under the teacher's guidance to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those who require extra challenges or support.

  • Pastoral & Behavioural Support: Foster a safe and positive learning environment. Supervise students during breaks, manage behaviour effectively in line with school policy, and act as a positive role model.

  • Classroom Collaboration: Work in partnership with the class teacher to prepare resources, monitor student progress, provide valuable feedback, and contribute to a well-organised and engaging classroom.

What We're Looking For (Skills & Qualifications):

  • Essential: Proven experience working with primary school-aged children, ideally within Key Stage 2 (KS2).

  • Essential: Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build excellent rapport with pupils.

  • Essential: Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.

  • Highly Desirable: Direct experience supporting SATS preparation in a Year 6 setting.

  • Desirable: A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (e.g., Level 2, 3 or equivalent).

  • Desirable: A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
