Are you passionate about supporting children with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you enjoy working flexibly while making a real impact in the classroom?

We're looking for caring, committed and adaptable SEMH/SEN Support Staff to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in York. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a supply basis, with a mix of day-to-day, short-term and longer-term placements available - tailored to your availability and preferences.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and/or broader SEN needs
  • Supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, communication and access to learning
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals to deliver tailored support
  • Encouraging positive relationships, confidence and independence in pupils

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH and/or SEN, ideally within a school or care setting
  • A patient, empathetic and proactive approach to behaviour and emotional support
  • Ability to adapt and respond to the needs of different pupils and settings
  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Teaching Assistant Level 2/3, Team Teach, or equivalent) is desirable but not essential
