About the Role:
My client is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead their production team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for achieving production targets while maintaining high standards of health & safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator with proven supervisory experience in FMCG or similar manufacturing environments. A focus on continuous improvement, team development, and cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and promote a proactive safety culture.

  • Lead production operations to meet daily KPIs and minimise downtime.

  • Oversee quality control, adherence to SOPs, and support audit readiness.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

  • Manage resources, including materials, staff planning, and equipment readiness.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and system transactions (ERP, stock control, dispatch).

  • Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring clear communication and performance management.

  • Support environmental and sustainability goals through site-wide initiatives.

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • Proven supervisory/leadership experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of H&S, GMP, and quality systems.

  • Skilled in team leadership, problem-solving, and performance management.

  • Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

  • FLT Counterbalance licence (2 years experience).

  • Food Hygiene Level 2, IOSH Working Safely, HACCP Level 2.

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safely, First Aid, ILM or equivalent leadership training.

  • Experience with BRC, ISO, and audit processes.
