Position: Commis Chef
Location: Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh, United Kingdom
Salary: £14.75 per hour, 35 hours per week (£26,852 per year)
Shifts: 06:15 - 14:00 or 13:15 - 20:45, 5 days over 7
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes, supporting senior chefs, and ensuring a high standard of food quality and presentation. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to build a career in professional kitchens.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including workstations and equipment.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to high-quality standards and presented beautifully.
- Follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Support the kitchen team with stock management and inventory as needed.
Requirements:
- Basic culinary skills and a passion for cooking.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen is an advantage but not essential.
