Job Title: Cover Supervisor (CS)
Location: Grantham
Salary Range: £90 - £120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: ASAP
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time
GSL Education are currently recruiting for a Cover Supervisor (CS) to join a dynamic and inclusive school in Grantham. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are considering a career in teaching or looking to gain valuable school-based experience.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-set work to students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. You will maintain classroom order, support student engagement, and ensure a productive learning environment. This role provides hands-on experience and insight into school operations, making it ideal for aspiring teachers or those with a background in education or youth work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms during teacher absences.
- Deliver and explain pre-prepared lesson content to students.
- Maintain a positive and focused classroom environment.
- Ensure students remain on task and complete work to a high standard.
- Provide brief feedback to teaching staff on lesson delivery and student engagement.
- Uphold school policies around behaviour and safeguarding at all times.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of a Level 2 qualification or equivalent; a degree is advantageous.
- Previous experience working with young people in a school or youth setting is desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Confident, calm, and approachable with a professional attitude.
- Ability to adapt and respond to different classroom situations.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
