HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician (Grantham)

Location: Grantham

Salary: OTE £45,(Apply online only) per annum plus overtime at 1.5x

Hours: 40 hours per week, rotating earlies and late shifts, alternate Saturdays, additional overtime and on-call opportunities

The Role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician / Truck Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician to join a busy fleet workshop in Grantham. You will carry out inspections, maintenance, and repairs to keep heavy goods vehicles, trailers, and commercial vehicles safe, compliant, and on the road. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Mercedes-Benz trucks and gain access to ongoing training and career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform major and minor repairs on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles
  • Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance
  • Diagnose faults and assist with repair planning alongside the team
  • Maintain accurate workshop records and complete relevant documentation
  • Provide emergency roadside repair support when required
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant working environment

Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 3 qualification in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI)
  • Experience performing diagnostic and service repairs on HGVs
  • Ability to identify worn or faulty components in line with DVSA standards
  • Full UK driving licence for relevant vehicle classes

Desirable

  • Experience with heavy goods vehicle diagnostics
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
