Are you a dedicated PE Teacher with experience supporting young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs? A specialist SEMH school in Grantham is seeking a full-time teacher to join their team on a long-term (sickness cover) basis. This role is ideal for someone who brings empathy, resilience, and a passion for helping students overcome barriers to learning.

The school focuses on providing a curriculum that nurtures both emotional development and academic progress. In this position, you will be instrumental in shaping positive learning experiences through consistency, creativity, and relationship-based practice.



Main Duties:

  • Plan and deliver engaging PE lessons tailored to learners with SEMH needs

  • Implement restorative and trauma-informed strategies to support behaviour

  • Establish supportive and respectful relationships with pupils, families, and staff

  • Help students work towards EHCP targets while encouraging personal development

  • Create a classroom environment that is inclusive, safe, and structured

  • Track and assess progress, adjusting approaches where required

  • Take part in school-wide activities, events, and enrichment sessions



Essential Skills & Experience:

  • QTS or a recognised teaching qualification (required)

  • Experience within SEMH, PRU, or alternative provision settings (advantageous but not mandatory)

  • Confident behaviour management and strong communication abilities

  • A trauma-informed, child-centred teaching style

  • Patience, determination, and a commitment to inclusive education

  • Ability to build rapport and motivate students with complex needs
