Ocean Import Coordinator - Gravesend - Up to 32,000

Our client, who are a UK-based freight forwarding company is seeking a dedicated Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team in Gravesend. This role involves managing the end-to-end import process, ensuring efficient transportation of goods from suppliers to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage deep sea ocean and road freight imports, primarily from the USA, Far East, and India

  • Complete import customs clearance entries (CNS, Destin8)

  • Liaise with international suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and stakeholders to arrange timely deliveries

  • Arrange transport with shipping lines and haulage companies

  • Monitor and update clients with shipment statuses and estimated arrival times

  • Ensure all documentation and files are accurately entered into the system

  • Invoice imports including Duty and VAT, and ensure all associated costs are captured

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients, agents, and vendors

  • Maintain compliance with shipping terms, incoterms, and trade regulations

  • Use import-related software systems such as CNS, Destin8, and Decartes-CDS

  • Effectively prioritise workload and work proactively within a team

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in ocean and road freight import operations

  • Strong knowledge of customs procedures and clearance systems

  • Proficient in MS Office and import-specific software

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills

  • High level of attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • Team-oriented with a proactive and enthusiastic approach
