We are seeking a diligent Plant Operator. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with traffic management and waste acceptance procedures. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the safety and compliance standards of site operations.
Day-to-day of the role:- Ensure compliance with the Traffic Management Plan and work in line with permits and Environmental Management Plans (EMP).
- Assist in traffic management to minimise queues and turnaround times on site.
- Monitor Health & Safety compliance across the site, reporting any unsafe conditions to the inline manager immediately.
- Conduct daily checks on equipment and ensure all communication devices, including radios, are fully functional.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with the Banksman and Weighbridge to adhere to company procedures.
- Manage waste acceptance and ensure outgoing loads meet the specifications of receiving disposal sites.
- Ensure Material Recovery Facility (MRF) bays are emptied by 4:30 PM and that the plant is parked safely away from any combustible materials after 5 PM.
- Follow strict guidelines to ensure waste does not exceed regulated limits and complete housekeeping tasks around the site.
- Provide cover for staff as per the staff break schedule and work in line with the Site Maintenance and Working Schedule.
- Proven experience as a Plant Operator or in a similar role within a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance requirements related to waste management.
- Ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and perform basic repairs.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a team.
