(38 weeks per year plus 5 additional days outside of term time, 32 hours per week)

I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established secondary school in Grays, Essex, who are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Exams Officer to join their team on a permanent basis from March 2026, with the potential to start sooner for the right candidate.

This is a key role within the school, ensuring the smooth and compliant administration of all internal and external examinations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders, teachers, invigilators, awarding bodies and students to deliver an efficient, secure and supportive exams process.



Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full exams cycle, including entries, timetabling, rooming, invigilation and results processing

  • Ensure all exam procedures comply with JCQ and awarding body regulations

  • Manage and train the invigilation team

  • Maintain strict confidentiality and data accuracy at all times

  • Provide clear communication to staff, students and parents regarding exam requirements

  • Support students by creating a calm, well-organised and professional exam environment

  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail

  • Experienced in administration, ideally within an educational or regulated environment

  • Able to work to deadlines and manage multiple priorities
