I’m Dan, and I have been working closely with primary school settings for the past two years, supporting them with all aspects of their recruitment. I’m currently supporting a number of primary schools in Grays, and the surrounding areas, who are looking for Learning Support Assistants on a supply basis. There may also be opportunities for longer-term work if this is something you would be open to.
The Learning Support Assistant role will involve supporting pupils in the classroom, either on a one-to-one basis or within small groups, when regular staff are absent or additional support is required. You’ll work closely with the class teacher to help pupils stay engaged, follow routines, and access learning. This is a flexible role that suits individuals who are patient, reliable, and confident supporting children with a range of needs.
The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting
- Confidence supporting pupils both one-to-one and in small groups
- Ability to follow guidance from the class teacher and SENCO
- A calm, patient, and supportive approach
- Flexibility to work across different schools and year groups
- Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
