Job title: Transport Container Planner - Days
Location: Grays, Essex
Salary: Up to 52,000 per year + Generous Bonus Scheme + Overtime Opportunities
Shifts: Monday to Friday - Day shifts
I currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Container Transport Planner to join a busy transport team in Grays. Working with a fleet of 50+ trucks and modern equipment, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient planning and execution of UK container movements.
Transport Container Planner (Days) Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily transport routes for a fleet of 50+ vehicles
- Book port slots using VBS (Vehicle Booking System)
- Utilise Transport Management Systems (TMS) for scheduling and tracking
- Work with online shipping line portals for container instructions and restitution
- Communicate with drivers, depots, ports, and customers
- React to operational changes and resolve planning issues quickly
- Ensure compliance with driver hours and WTD regulations
Transport Container Planner (Days) Requirements
- Experience in container transport planning (essential)
- Good knowledge of VBS systems and container restitution processes
- Confident using online shipping line portals
- Proficiency in TMS software
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Able to work efficiently under pressure
