Senior Accounts Assistant / Accounts Manager – Malvern (office based)
Salary: Up to £33,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm
Start Date: Immediate start available
Red Rock are working on behalf of a well-established and reputable organisation based in Malvern, who are seeking a hands-on Accounts Manager to join their friendly finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being part of a supportive, close-knit environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance department (managing 1 Accounts Assistant)
- Handle accounts up to trial balance
- Take ownership of VAT returns, payroll (up to 80 staff), and related submissions
- Assist with year-end accounts and liaise with external accountants
- Maintain financial schedules, bank reconciliations, and payment runs
- Ensure compliance with HMRC and pension requirements
- Provide guidance and support to the accounts assistant
Requirements:
- Proven experience with VAT, payroll, and accounts to trial balance
- Experience using Xero and BrightPay is advantageous
- No formal qualification required – practical experience preferred
- Must hold a current DBS, or be willing for one to be arranged (cost deducted from first pay)
