(European Transport Manager) - Position Overview
Streamline Search are representing a leading independent logistics and distribution firm that specialise in European Road freight. Due to the on-going success and profitable business wins our client requires an experienced European Transport Manager to assist in the smooth running of the business.
This is not a desk-only role. Our client is looking for someone who thrives on rolling up their sleeves-personally managing drivers, overseeing vehicle movements, handling urgent issues, and ensuring our refrigerated fleet performs around the clock.Our client has built their name on high standards, trusted performance, and specialist knowledge in refrigerated transport; Offering the freedom to take full operational control and the responsibility to deliver measurable results, supported by a team that values action, accountability, and reliability.
- Take day-to-day control of a fleet of 25+ refrigerated vehicles and HGV drivers
- Plan and manage European transport routes with precision and compliance
- Be operationally involved at all levels-including direct driver contact, debriefs, and crisis handling
- Respond to issues 24/7-maintaining full operational oversight and accountability
- Ensure legal compliance with EU road transport, customs, and cold chain regulations
- Lead on holiday scheduling, disciplinary matters, and staff performance management
- Maintain strict control of vehicle productivity and cost efficiency
- Deliver commercial results: manage fleet profitability and spot business opportunities
- Support customer retention and growth with dependable service and industry insight
(European Transport Manager) - Position Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience running refrigerated trucks and chilled logistics across Europe
- Deep understanding of temperature-controlled transport and cold chain requirements
- Strong commercial awareness of the European freight and logistics market
- Demonstrated ability to manage HGV drivers, vehicle planning, and fleet maintenance
- Willingness to be on-call 24/7 and take ownership of service delivery and operational continuity
- Experience handling customs, migration issues, and European labour regulations
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a practical, no-nonsense approach to transport operations
- Existing industry contacts are a strong advantage.
(European Transport Manager) - Position Remuneration
- Salary: £50k - £60k
- Hybrid role: Fully remote role with 1-2 visits to the office a month.
- Bonus structure to be discussed at interview stage.
