I am recruiting for a stunning venue on the outskirts of Carlisle that are looking for a passionate and talented Sous Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. An amazing opportunity to work with this great family and team in a high quality environment. Paying 38 to 40k depending on experience.

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in managing the kitchen operation and ensuring the smooth running of daily services. You will work with a dedicated and experienced team to create innovative menus and maintain our high standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate the junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food production and cleanliness.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, food safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Support stock management, including ordering and maintaining accurate stock levels.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
  • Lead by example, maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef in a high-end restaurant or hotel kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
  • Passionate about food with a strong understanding of seasonality and high-quality ingredients.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creative, with an eye for detail and a desire to develop your culinary skills further.
