As an SEN Teaching Assistant in these dynamic environments, your role will be multifaceted and deeply rewarding. You'll be actively involved in:

  • Fostering engagement and participation: Employing creative and adaptive strategies to make learning accessible and enjoyable, helping students who may be disengaged to reconnect with their education.

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive atmosphere: Building strong, trusting relationships with students, acting as a consistent and positive role model, and ensuring a supportive environment where every student feels valued.

  • Contributing to students' holistic development: Supporting not only academic progress but also their social, emotional, and mental health through structured activities, positive reinforcement, and consistent guidance.

  • Collaborating closely with staff: Working as part of a dedicated team alongside teachers and other professionals to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and communicate student progress and challenges effectively.

You Will Have:
  • Prior experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, Alternative Provision (AP), or Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting.

  • A strong understanding of various Special Educational Needs (e.g., SEMH, ASD, ADHD, learning difficulties) and effective strategies for support.
