Mechanical Engineer (Diesel Engines / Marine)

£35,000 - £40,000 DOE + Overtime £47,000 OTE + Training + Company van + Progression + On-site

Are you a mechanical engineer with experience in repairing and maintaining diesel engines looking for an exciting opportunity to progress your career in a rapidly expanding business?

This company are specialists in fleet maintenance and repair of sea vessels in the Northeast of England. They are trusted by many clients to deliver quick and effective mechanical services in the Grimsby area, working with companies such as ABP. They have been established for over 20 years and are expanding their dedicated team.

On offer is the opportunity to join a hardworking and efficient team where you will be carrying out various tasks, including boat repairs and maintenance as well as welding and manufacturing parts, predominantly on the Grimsby docks. You will be trained to IOSH and NEBOSH safety standards.

This role would suit an experienced mechanical engineer looking to progress their career into team leader roles, with excellent opportunity for growth within this trusted and hardworking mechanical engineering company.

The role:

  • Fault finding on diesel engines and preventative maintenance
  • Major equipment and boat repairs
  • Sheet metal work
  • Light and heavy fabrication work utilising numerous welding applications
  • In-line boring of main & auxiliary engines and gearboxes
  • Occasionally travelling to sites to carry out services

The person:

  • Has knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and heavy plant machinery
  • City & Guilds level 3 Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • MOET level 3 qualification
  • Experience working in mechanical engineering
