Sheet Metal Worker

£20.13ph first 8 hours rising to £30.20ph

HBG Recrutiment are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker to join one of our client who are well established within the food manufacturing sector. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate, cut, bend, and weld stainless steel and other food-grade metals to create parts and equipment used in food production.

  • Install and maintain sheet metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support the repair and modification of existing equipment and infrastructure.

  • Operate various machinery, such as press brakes, shears, rollers, TIG/MIG welders, and plasma cutters.

  • Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure integrity and cleanliness of fabricated components.

  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues related to sheet metal installations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, preferably in a food production or hygienic manufacturing environment.

  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Skilled in TIG/MIG welding and working with stainless steel and aluminum.

  • Familiarity with food safety and sanitation requirements in fabrication processes.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of workmanship.

  • Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship in sheet metal work or fabrication.
