Join Our Client’s Team as Sales & Purchasing Manager – Food Manufacturing

Position: Sales & Purchasing Manager
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £50,000–£60,000 (Depending on experience)
Shift: No fixed hours (typically between 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM, with longer days on Mondays).
Contract: Permanent
Start date: ASAP

About the Role

Our client is a well-established and rapidly expanding business in the food manufacturing sector. They are seeking a committed and driven individual to take on a key management role focused on sales, purchasing, and costings, with additional responsibilities covering senior management duties during absences.

This is a challenging and hands-on position, ideal for someone with commercial acumen, resilience, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Early starts and flexibility are essential, and a willingness to support operational teams when needed is key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the sales, purchasing, and costing functions

  • Provide support and cover for senior management when required

  • Deliver accurate pricing and cost analysis

  • Work independently while contributing effectively to a small team

  • Assist with operational duties during busy periods

  • Support the ongoing growth and efficiency of the business

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant commercial or operational role

  • Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

  • Strong computer literacy

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple responsibilities

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and adaptable

  • Willingness to work early hours and stay until tasks are complete

  • Comfortable working in a hands-on and physically active environment

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, supply chain management, or finance (desirable).

  • Strong sales, negotiation and communication skills

  • Background in sales, supply chain management, or team leadership is highly advantageous
