Fabrication & Welding Assessor

Full-Time | Permanent | 37 hours per week
Salary: From 30,000 per annum + up to 5,000 market supplement

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fabrication & Welding Assessor to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced industry professionals who are looking to move into an assessment role and support apprentices in achieving their qualifications.

Industry candidates are very welcome - assessment experience is not essential, as full support and training will be provided.



The Role

As a Fabrication & Welding Assessor, you will work closely with the Programme Leader to support Fabrication & Welding apprentices through their NVQ Level 3 qualification. You will play a key role in ensuring apprentices receive high-quality assessment, feedback, and guidance to help them become fully qualified.



Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and support Fabrication & Welding apprentices working towards NVQ Level 3

  • Liaise regularly with employers to monitor apprentice progress and workplace performance

  • Carry out workplace visits to assess competence and review evidence

  • Quality check apprentice portfolios to ensure they meet awarding body standards

  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to keep learners on track to achieve their qualification

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date assessment records

  • Work collaboratively with the Programme Leader and wider team to ensure high-quality delivery



About You

Essential Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Fabrication & Welding (or equivalent)

  • Strong industry experience within fabrication and welding

  • Passion for developing others and supporting learner success

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA, A1, CAVA)

  • Experience assessing or mentoring apprentices
