LNJ Recruitment is proud to be working on behalf of a leading insurance management firm based in Guernsey, currently seeking an experienced and driven Senior Insurance Manager to join their leadership team.This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with a strong background in (re)insurance, captive management, underwriting, broking, or insurance consulting. The role offers direct involvement in an innovative and evolving portfolio of clients and access to some of the most exciting developments in the insurance space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of exceptional service across a portfolio of captive clients.
  • Act as Client Executive, overseeing all aspects of the client relationship and annual service cycle.
  • Provide strategic advice on risk financing structures and insurance solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Mentor, lead, and support team members, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Identify training and development needs to support growth and succession planning.
  • Support new business activities, including RfP responses, onboarding, and solution design.
  • Contribute to the implementation of strategic plans as set by the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Promote operational efficiency by utilising effective management tools and systems.
  • Support the firm’s broader business development efforts, including external promotion of captives.
  • Offer technical guidance to colleagues on complex insurance issues and queries.
  • Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by senior leadership.

Candidate Profile:

  • Qualifications:
    • ACII (or equivalent) - essential
    • Actively working toward further qualifications - desirable
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience within the general insurance or reinsurance sectors - essential
    • Previous leadership or line management experience - essential
    • Experience in captive insurance - highly desirable
    • Exposure to team supervision and mentoring - beneficial
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong technical knowledge of the insurance/reinsurance landscape
    • Client-focused with a dedication to service excellence
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Motivated by continuous personal and team development
    • Commercially astute with an understanding of budgeting and performance targets

Location & Working Model:

  • Based in Guernsey with a hybrid work model (combination of remote and office-based working).
  • Due to regulatory requirements, the successful candidate is expected to reside in Guernsey.
