Job Summary: We are seeking multiple HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with experience in any of the following disciplines: Histology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Haematology. The successful biomedical scientists will join our dedicated team within the NHS and play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic services and contributing to the effective delivery of patient care.These Roles are across Kent, Surrey, Hampshire, Essex, Berkshire and Oxfordshire
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures specific to your discipline (Histology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Haematology) to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases.
- Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensure all laboratory work is conducted in compliance with established protocols and standards.
- Analyze and interpret test results, providing accurate and timely reports to medical staff.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities to maintain high standards of laboratory practice.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide expert advice and support on laboratory findings.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in biomedical science and implement new techniques and technologies as appropriate.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.
- Contribute to the training and development of junior biomedical scientists and students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist is essential.
- A degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
- Significant experience working within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting in the UK.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures specific to one or more of the following disciplines: Histology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Haematology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry advancements.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in specialized areas within your discipline.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
- Previous involvement in research projects or clinical trials.
