Cybersecurity Officer
Permanent - £50k-£60k + strong benefits
Location: 100% on-site working in Guildford (This is non-negotiable)

I am looking to recruit a skilled Cybersecurity Officer to join a global leader in the modelling software space. The business are currently relocating from Scotland down to Guildford and are looking to continue the strong growth that they are currently enjoying. The office in Guildford is set up for 250 people, with around 100 spaces to fill over the next few years. There are lots of opportunities to grow with the business.
Your new role
This is a genuinely interesting opportunity to enhance the organisation's security posture, at a good time when the company is expanding and is in need of expertise and guidance. This role will focus on information security policies, procedures, playbooks, and assurance. The company has recently moved into a new office. They're in the process of improving their benefits package, which is already strong. You will bring confidence and expertise in how the organisation can improve their cybersecurity strategy. You will be the first 100% cyber and infosec-focussed employee. Key parts of the role:
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Monitor, analyse and investigate security alerts, responding appropriately, documenting findings and collaborating with relevant teams.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits and penetration tests to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Investigate and propose new technologies which would help improve our security posture.
- Coordinate with IT and other departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all systems and processes.
- Manage and conclude third-party cybersecurity assessments.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of security tools and technologies.
- Promote and conduct security awareness and training for employees.
What you'll need to succeed
- Ideally, above 5 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Experience with security tools and technologies (e.g., firewalls, IDS/IPS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with cloud and internet security.
