Absolute Executive Search are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager, based in Surrey, for a Top 10 Accountancy Practice who are looking to grow their Corporate Tax Team.

The role

You will be expected to provide a range of tax services and business advice to a variety of clients from small, fast growing clients to large corporate entities. Our clients come from all industries, so exposure to multiple sectors would be a distinct advantage. More specifically this would include managing the tax compliance process for a varied portfolio of corporate tax clients, liaising with them to resolve queries, communicating with internal departments to ensure deadlines are met and overseeing the portfolio to ensure HMRC deadlines are met.

Tax advisory services will also be an important part of the role, assisting the partners and directors in the delivery of advisory projects.

We encourage our tax team to develop tax planning specialisms so that we can deliver high quality advice to clients and so that you can develop a niche for yourself. Leveraging off an excellent client base, you will have exposure to tax advisory projects which you will either lead or play a significant role in.

Skills & experience

We are looking for a self-starter to join a busy corporate tax team. You will have experience in managing a portfolio of corporate tax compliance cases, having dealt with clients of varying sizes and complexity across different industry sectors. You will have experience in managing the work-in-progress and billing associated with a portfolio.

The coaching and management of more junior members of the corporate tax team will be essential as well as an ability to confidently deal with team members and clients at all levels.

The ability to handle or input into tax advisory work on a range of clients is required and this could include matters such as any of the following:

Share Option schemes, including EMI

Corporate restructuring including the preparation of clearances to HMRC for a range of transactions

R&D tax credit claims

Corporate Interest Restriction advice

Tax due diligence

Tax support on M&A work

An ability to take ownership of work and a can-do attitude are essential for this role.
