Job title: 1st Line Support Engineer

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000

Location: Guildford, Hybrid working available

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm (Fixed hybrid - Monday & Friday - WFH)

The Role:This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and technically minded individual to join the team as a 1st Line Support Engineer. Acting as the first point of contact for all IT and application-related queries, the role is key in supporting staff with day-to-day technical issues, while also contributing to the maintenance and enhancement of internal systems.The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with bespoke business applications and play a supportive role across a broad range of IT operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Frontline Support: Respond to and resolve first-line technical issues relating to hardware, software, and user access.
  • Application Support: Gain knowledge of in-house applications, providing support and escalating complex issues when necessary.
  • End User Assistance: Help staff troubleshoot and navigate internal systems effectively.
  • Equipment Setup: Assist with the installation, configuration, and relocation of computers, monitors, and peripherals.
  • Vendor Liaison: Work with third-party IT providers and software vendors to coordinate issue resolution.
  • Documentation: Contribute to the creation and maintenance of clear, up-to-date support guides and technical documentation.

About You:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a first-line IT support role or office-based experience supported by a recognised IT qualification.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Fast learner with a genuine interest in developing a career in IT and application support.
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing priorities with ease.
