Locum Family Solicitor - Surrey

Surrey (office-based, hybrid or remote depending on the firm)

We are working with a number of reputable firms across Surrey seeking experienced Locum Family Solicitors to support their teams on a short- to medium-term basis.

The Role

As a Locum Solicitor, you will hit the ground running with a broad caseload of Family matters, including:

  • Manage a caseload of family law matters, including divorce, financial settlements, children’s issues, prenuptial agreements and emergency applications.
  • Provide expert advice to clients, ensuring clear communication and high levels of client care throughout the process.
  • Represent clients in hearings and at court, where applicable.
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, court applications and settlement agreements.
  • Work collaboratively with the family law team, sharing expertise and supporting colleagues when needed.
  • Adapt quickly to changing case demands and deadlines, ensuring the smooth running of files.

Skills & Experience:

  • Qualified solicitor with significant experience in family law (preferably 3+ years).
  • Strong track record in managing a varied family law caseload, with experience in both private and public law matters.
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision.
  • Experience of managing urgent and time-sensitive matters, including emergency orders and urgent applications.
  • Excellent communication and client care skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own time effectively.
