Health & Social Care/Pharmacy Solicitor

2 - 6 years PQE

50% of the role would be working as part of the Health and Social Care Provider Team at Gordons Partnership which specialises in all aspects of operational compliance with a focus on CQC and Ofsted regulation. Core work includes:

1. Advising on CQC and Ofsted applications for registration and on suspected unregistered provision

2. Challenging draft inspection reports

3. Defending providers subject to civil and criminal enforcement action taken by Ofsted and CQC

4. Advising on safeguarding enquiries

5. Advising on contractual disputes involving care providers, particularly involving fees

6. Potential judicial review challenges against regulatory bodies.

50% of the role would be with the partner who specialises in regulatory and disciplinary work for pharmacists and pharmacies. The work is wide ranging and includes:

1. Assisting individual pharmacists in Fitness to Practise proceedings

2. Advice and representation of pharmacists and/ or pharmacy businesses at inquests

3. Bespoke advice on medicines legislation

4. Applications to ICBs in relation to the provision of NHS pharmaceutical services and appeals.

The work can also involve criminal prosecutions, appeals to the High Court and judicial review.
