Reed Finance are delighted to be supporting a growing manufacturing business in the search for their next Financial Controller. This is a great chance an experienced Finance professional to lead a finance function on-site but also have the support from a Head Office Finance Director in England.

My client is keen to meet a commercially aware accountant who can liaise at all levels, whilst also maintaining the highest level of financial performance.

The primary purpose of this role will be to develop and strengthen the financial systems and processes, and to set an operating standard that is deemed world class.

Main duties and Responsibilities

  • The financial control and reporting of the manufacturing operations
  • Managing, motivating, and developing the Accounts team
  • Ensuring month end and year end reporting deadlines are met
  • Timely preparation of monthly Board reporting for presentation to the Board
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and KPI’s
  • Ad hoc projects and management reporting
  • Annual budget preparation, review & action improvements with operational managers
  • Monitoring and reporting product profit margins with labour and material variance analysis
  • Establishing and monitoring overhead recovery process
  • Responsible for all tax requirements, including calculation of QUIPs and reconciliation to HMRC. Main point of contact for external tax advisers
  • Responsible for VAT compliance ensuring accuracy of data within submitted returns and on time filings
  • Main point of contact for external auditors. Ensure the audit is completed efficiently within agreed timescales

Candidate

  • Strong Financial & Management Accounting experience
  • Commercial aware
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
