About the Role

Supply Desk is currently recruiting for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in Hailsham. This is a full-time, long-term role starting ASAP, with the strong possibility of becoming a permanent position for the right candidate.

You will be working closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, providing both one-to-one and small group support. The school prides itself on its nurturing approach and is seeking someone who is patient, proactive, and committed to helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support pupils with SEN on a 1:1 and small group basis

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities

  • Help create a positive, inclusive classroom environment

  • Manage behaviour effectively and encourage positive engagement

  • Provide emotional and academic support to pupils to help them thrive

  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and outside agencies

Requirements
  • Experience working with children, ideally including SEN

  • A calm, compassionate, and resilient approach

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils

  • A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
