Assistant AccountantLocation: Halesowen Salary: £32,000-£36,000Type - Full Time/Permanent

We are delighted to be working with our valued client, a well-established and growing organisation, to recruit an experienced Senior Contract Accountant.

This is a broad and hands-on role that sits within the core finance team and combines traditional management accounting with commercial finance business partnering. You'll be joining at a key time and will play an integral role in driving performance, providing insight, and supporting business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet, and variance analysis

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting cycles, working closely with department heads

  • Provide meaningful financial insight and reporting to operational teams and senior leadership

  • Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and scenario planning

  • Collaborate with non-finance stakeholders to influence financial outcomes and ensure budget adherence

  • Drive process improvements and support internal controls

  • Assist with year-end audit and statutory reporting requirements

  • Mentor junior finance staff and support team development where necessary

Skills & Requirements:
  • At least 50% way through a professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in a similar management or financial accountant role

  • Strong commercial acumen and experience working closely with non-finance teams

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Proficient in Excel and modern finance systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Netsuite)

  • Able to hit the ground running and add value quickly in a contract setting
