A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Halesowen is looking to recruit a Tax Manager to join its dedicated tax team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a large corporate tax portfolio, contribute to technical problem-solving, and work closely with departments across the firm to ensure consistent, high-quality client service.

You’ll be reporting directly to the Tax Director and working closely with Audit, Accounts, and Personal Tax teams to deliver a cohesive and efficient service for clients across a wide range of sectors.

Role Responsibilities
  • Manage a substantial portfolio of corporate tax compliance clients
  • Review and prepare corporation tax computations and returns, ensuring statutory compliance and timely submission
  • Resolve technical tax queries, ensuring professional standards are met
  • Liaise directly with clients to maintain strong, long-term relationships
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Audit, Accounts, and Personal Tax to deliver joined-up services
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and manage workload effectively to meet them
  • Keep up to date with changes in corporation tax legislation relevant to your client base
  • Assist with introductory advice enquiry calls and ad hoc technical issues
  • Prepare disengagement letters where appropriate
  • Support the development of junior staff through sharing knowledge and technical guidance

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

  • ATT qualified (or equivalent), ideally working towards CTA
  • At least two years of experience in corporate tax compliance within a UK accountancy practice
  • Excellent knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation
  • Proven ability to manage a varied client portfolio and meet HMRC deadlines
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a client-focused mindset

Desirable:

  • CTA qualification (or close to completion)
  • Experience with IRIS or similar tax software
  • Confident dealing with HMRC enquiries and communications
  • Exposure to a wide range of business types and sectors
