We're proud to be supporting a well-established regional accountancy firm in Suffolk to recruit an experienced Tax Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified professional looking to lead, advise, and develop both clients and colleagues within a forward-thinking and supportive environment.
In this role, you'll take the lead on client tax planning and compliance, provide strategic advice to owner-managed businesses, and support a portfolio of clients across income, corporation, capital gains, and inheritance tax matters. You'll also play a key part in mentoring junior staff, ensuring quality, and shaping the firm's future tax services offering.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, providing expert advice across a range of tax areas
- Planning and reviewing tax consultancy and compliance assignments
- Presenting solutions to complex technical tax issues and providing strategic recommendations
- Building trusted relationships with clients and supporting new business development
- Managing WIP, billing, and recoverability to achieve financial targets
- Supporting and developing junior team members within the tax department
- Ensuring full compliance with internal procedures and risk management
What We're Looking For:
- CTA qualified or equivalent experience within a tax environment
- Practical experience in OMB tax issues, including income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax
- Strong commercial awareness and a problem-solving mindset
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- A collaborative approach, with the confidence to take initiative and lead from the front
