Robert Half Accountancy and Finance are recruiting for a Financial controller/Finance Director Designate to join a dynamic SME based in Halifax.This is a fantastic opportunity that allows for a clear path to Finance Director after a short probationary period.
You will lead the finance function and oversee a small team. This position involves ensuring robust financial management while contributing to strategic growth and operational advancements.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual accounts
- Manage all treasury functions, including cash flow forecasting and foreign currency
- Lead the implementation of a new financial and ERP system
- Deliver robust budgets and forecasts that drive profitability and working capital optimisation
- Collaborate with auditors, tax advisors, and external professional bodies for compliance, tax planning, and strategic initiatives
- Oversee payroll, pensions, life assurance, and company-wide insurance policies
- Provide actionable insights for cost savings, efficiency improvement, and profit recognition
- Take on board-level duties post-probation, including leading AGMs, pursuing acquisitions, conducting due diligence, and raising finance
Requirements:
- Experienced Financial Controller with a minimum of five years proven experience in a similar role
- ACA/ACCA or CIMA Qualified Accountant
- Manufacturing experience advantageous
- Strategic thinker, strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and confident communicator at all levels
